About LegalTech SA

LegalTech SA was founded by a LegalTech enthusiast who holds BCom (Information Systems), BCom Honors (Business Informatics), with a very strong Information Systems implementation background, who is also busy pursuing his Final year LLB through Unisa. LegalTech SA’s objective is to accelerate and improve the way legal service are accessed and delivered, especially by the poorest of the poor.Through this initiative we want to increase access to legal services at a cheaper costs using digital technology. As one of our initiatives we offer free hosting and website development to newly  established law firms. This helps them bring their legal services to digital platform which is one step closer to linking their services to our communities. We encourage the law firms that we host, in return they pay it forward and assist the communities in need of legal services in what ever form. We hope the more firms we host the more legal services will be accessible at cost effective rates. We are in the planning phase for development of a digital platform where communities and legal professionals will register for free. This platform will have Uber App like functionality, but for legal services with a capability of virtual consultation. Other initiatives on the pipeline is to offer free end user computing classes to the communities that do not have resources and access to such training. We also want to encourage students through a yearly competition that we are going to organize, to come up with digital solutions that can help reduce the costs of delivering legal services and increase access. The winner of this competition if the idea is viable, we will assist them to take the idea to the market .or potential investors. Through these different avenues and initiatives we undertake to accelerate the cooperation of Legal fraternity and Technology sector  in working as one to change how the legal services are delivered and accessed through our Government institutions, Justice Systems, and Law firms.

Legal Tech SA established different branches that are each focused in different sphere of the same LegalTech ecosystem. We have:  Academy division; Innovation Lab Division; and Online Shop. Academy division main objective is to impart the much needed legaltech skills to our communities. Innovation Lab main objective is to create a hub that is using technology as a platform to constantly look for innovative solutions and better ways of increasing access to legal services. Online Shop will sell merchandise in order to raise funds for all the projects and initiatives we are undertaking to increase access to legal service.
